Here are the instructions for using the new SMUS virtual desktop.
It can be used to 'log in' to a SMUS computer no matter where you are, or what type of device you are using.
You will have access to your regular network drives - such as your H: drive, and all SMUS programs (even if they are not installed on your own device). It's as if you are sitting at a school machine!


Please follow these instuctions ON the device you are using:

Windows 7 / Vista:
Click on this link: RDS Gateway and run the file it downloads.
Check the box "Don't ask me again for remote connections from this publisher" and click Connect.
Sign in using your regular SMUS username/password.
To use the program again - just start the 'Remote Desktop Connection' program in the accessories group under the start menu


Windows XP:
Enable the windows CredSSP feature (off by default in XP) by clicking on this link and then click on 'Microsoft Fixit' button down the page.

Click on this link: RDS Gateway and run the file it downloads.
Check the box "Don't ask me again for remote connections from this publisher" and click Connect.
Sign in using SMUSLOCAL\username and your password.
To use the program again - just start the 'Remote Desktop Connection' program in the accessories group under the start menu


Macintosh:
Please go to the following link and purchase and install the iTap RDP client ($25.00)

Click on this link: RDS Gateway and run the file it downloads.
(if this opens in the Microsoft RDP client which is installed with some version of Office for Mac - please uninstall that program and open the link in the iTap RDP client. The Microsoft client does not have the gateway support built in like the iTap client does.)
Sign in using your network username,password and SMUSLOCAL as the domain.
You may need to accept a security certificate prompt


iOS (iPhone,iPad, iTouch):
